Fell on Black Days – Bring Out Your Dead

I think it would be fair to say that Wales never really produces any decent Thrash bands – Anterior are one of very few that spring to mind – the majority of others merely want to be Slayer. Which is why it’s such a breath of fresh air to hear a band like Fell On Black Days. Combining thrashy, aggressive riffs with crush-your-balls style vocals – much reminiscent of Rob Flynn of Machine Head – FOBD have created an energetic, piecing sound.

Tooth and Nail showcases the bands ability to write face pounding riffs, whilst EP closer Bone of Contention is plastered in hook laden vocal lines without the need to sound whiney. Although the five songs do very little in terms of variation – each song could be mistaken for the next – Bring Out Your Dead is a consistent display of raw, aggressive metal; with an album expected to drop during the next 12 months we have high expectations from Fell On Black Days.
