Some really disturbing news that has surfaced on the social media grapevine over the last 24 hours. The tour they are currently on, which also features Malefice and Chapters was on its Birmingham installment last night. Both Sylosis and Anterior had merchandise stolen right from the merch tables by so called “fans”. In an age where illegal downloads of music have almost come to be accepted as the norm this is a very disturbing step as tours and merchandise are now the bands primary source of income. Both bands have expressed their annoyance and disgust at the situation via social media since the gig last night and Rocksins’ doesn’t think too many people out there will disagree.
So if anyone was at the Birmingham show and saw anything, or if you know anyone who happened to “help themselves” to some merchandise, do the bands a favour and get in touch/contact the authorities where appropriate. We’re all part of the metal family and when something like this happens we all need to help each other. Alternatively, if you’re going to any of the remaining shows on the tour and have a few quid spare, pick up some merch (and hand over some cash in exchange) to try and help the bands make up for any losses they’ve incurred.
The tour takes in Manchester tonight, followed by Glasgow, Nottingham and finishing up in London on Friday. If you’re a fan, get along and support the bands as much as possible.
