As tour announcements go, they don’t get too much bigger than this in terms of odd couplings. As rumoured across the Internet for weeks, Lady Gaga has announced her plans for the 2012 Born This Way World Tour and is making stop offs in both London and Manchester in the UK. What was most certainly not expected was for Ms Gaga to invite Britain’s favourite catsuit wearing falsetto powered rockers The Darkness to support her across Europe for the tour. As confirmed by Greg Cochrane on BBC Radio One today lunchtime when he spoke to Darkness’ vocalist Justin Hawkins, any Lady Gaga fans planning to attend the shows amongst the Rocksins’ readership are going to get one hell of a bonus treat in the shape of Lowestoft’s finest.
Lady Gaga & The Darkness UK Tour Dates 2012:
London – Twickenham Stadium – 8th September
Manchester – City Of Manchester Stadium – 11th September
According to reports, there are sufficient gaps in the tour schedule for two more London shows to be added if demand is sufficient (and it’s safe to say that it will be so long as the ticket prices aren’t astronomical) UPDATE – The Tickets are priced between £55 – £88 for “normal” (not VIP) tickets, standing tickets for London are £77. Tickets are on general sale from tomorrow morning (Friday 13th April 2012) at either 9am or 10am depending on the website you are using. Some tickets may be available through Live Nation presale or O2 priority, though O2 priority is not confirmed at this time.
For more news from The Darkness camp (though we doubt anything will top that anytime soon) as well as the latest rock & metal tour announcements, please keep your browser tuned to Rocksins on a daily basis.
