Iron Maiden To Bring “Maiden England” Show To Download Festival 2013 Headline Performance

Iron Maiden

After the the leaked news courtesy of Rammstein’s Facebook page (see our post on the story here) that they would be headlining the closing night of Download 2013, there was the small matter of the official announcement on the Download Festival website.

It wasn’t 100% clear whether Rammstein were the band who were going to be unveiled at 6pm on the Download Festival website. Safe to say, they weren’t.

Iron Maiden, on the other hand, were. And in the vein of Metallica’s appearance last year playing The Black Album in full, Maiden will be bringing their very special “Maiden England” performance from their US Tour this year to Castle Donington for the Saturday night of Download 2013 (if you don’t know about Maiden England, Google it, it provides one hell of a setlist). For Maiden fans and metal fans in general everywhere, this promises to be one special night and Download 2013 is already shaping up to rival this year’s amazing lineup which was topped off by The Prodigy, Metallica and the return of Black Sabbath.

The second headliner is due to be officially confirmed at 10am tomorrow morning. We’re guessing that after Rammstein’s Facebook faux pas it will probably be them, but you can never be sure. Return tomorrow morning to find out for sure.
