Rammstein Now Officially Confirmed As Second Download 2013 Headliners

After the Facebook leak of yesterday (see here), it wasn’t going to take the powers at be at Castle Donington long to have to confirm their second headliners for Download 2013, and at 10am today they duly obliged.

A visit to the official Download Festival website will now see the Rammstein logo sitting proudly next to the Iron Maiden one, giving official confirmation that the six piece German industrial metal titans, regarded in many circles as the greatest live act in the entire world, never mind the world of metal, will be headlining for the first time at Donington. After close to ten years of trying, Download and Andy Copping have finally got their men in what must be regarded as a huge coup as Rammstein have only had a single festival appearance in the UK ever up until now. They join Iron Maiden in what so far is an exciting re-run of the headliners from Sonisphere 2010, the year that Sonisphere firmly established itself on the map.

Some people will complain that they’ve seen it before, but when it involves Iron Maiden performing a large part of one of their greatest albums and a selection of other hits and Rammstein doing what they do best, most people will still be very happy with this announcement, ourselves included. We’ll definitely be seeing you at Donington in June 2013!

Further updates on Download 2013 will be available here at Rocksins as and when they develop – keep checking back for more regularly.
