In a shocking turn of events (not the first one to occur this week in the world of metal), Machine Head have in the last couple of hours announced that band co-founder and bassist Adam Duce will be leaving the Californian metal four piece. The following announcement was posted on Machine Head’s official website:

Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011’s “Unto The Locust”. A late 2013 release is projected.

It is well documented that Machine Head’s frontman Robb Flynn and Adam Duce have had issues in recent times, culminating in the band nearly splitting up in the middle of a European tour a few years ago, but they had sought to put those issues behind them. As stated in the official announcement, Machine Head are currently working on their next studio album, and any further updates on this, along with any news of a new bassist and/or Adam Duce’s future plans will be reported here on Rocksins.com.
