Recently having celebrated their twentieth anniversary, Finnish gothic rockers HIM have returned with their new album “Tears On Tape” and have released a brand new single & music video to co-incide with the launch of the album.
The song, entitled “All Lips Go Blue” retains the distinctive HIM style that the band have crafted over their two decades together and should prove to be a new favourite for fans of the band both new and old. Check it out below:
The launch of Tears On Tape has proven to be a successful one for Ville Valo and the rest of HIM, as the album landed at number 15 in the Billboard Top 200 album chart in America, selling over twenty thousand copies in it’s first week of release. Tears On Tape also took the number one position in the US Hard Rock Charts, amongst a variety of other top 10 US chart positions. It’s not just the US where Tears On Tape has done well. In both Germany and their home country of Finland they narrowly missed out on top billing in the album chart, coming in at number two in both countries. The album, which was released through the Razor & Tie label in the US will be released through Cooking Vinyl in the UK on May 27th 2013.
To round off the band’s recent successes, HIM won the award for the most dedicated fans at the US Revolver Golden Gods awards, beating bands from A Day To Remember to Rammstein in landing the award.
HIM are next in the UK at the 11th annual Download Festival this June from Donington Park, Derbyshire. The band will headline the third stage on the Friday night of the event.
