It’s a good time to be a Jimmy Eat World fan in the UK! The US four piece fronted by Jim Adkins have had a succession of triumphant performances in the UK over the last ten days or so, concluding with a very successful appearance on the Zippo Encore stage at Download 2013 on the Saturday, followed by a sold out show at London’s Koko theatre. Coupled with this was the news that their new album Damage landed in the UK Top 40 album charts at number 38, the band have decided to capitalise on their recent adventures and successes in the UK by announcing one of their biggest UK tours in many years.
In what could be dubbed an “Academy” tour, Jimmy Eat World will play seven shows across England and Scotland, all in “Academy” venues. Six of these shows will take place in September, and the band will return a full two months later for a show at London’s Brixton Academy on the 19th of November.
