Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins Appears In Court, Denies Child Sex Offence Charges

The latest instalment of the court case and shocking allegations involving Lostprophets front-man Ian Watkins took place in Cardiff Crown Court yesterday (3rd of June 2013). Mr Watkins, who was not present in the courtroom but appeared through a video link along with two women who are also accused of the charges, continues to register a not guilty plea against all charges.

The charges currently stand at twenty three different offences involving children and minors, most serious amongst them two counts of raping a one year old girl and conspiracy to rape a second child. There are numerous other charges also involving child pornography and indecent images, sexual assault, aiding and abetting sexual assault and conspiracy of sexually assaulting a child. There is also a twenty fourth charge relating to extreme pornographic imagery involving animals.

Mr Watkins, who is thirty five years old, has strenuously denied all charges ever since he was arrested several months ago. A statement from the Lostprophets singer was read outside of the court after the hearing which said:

“I want to thank my family, friends and all the fans for their continued support throughout this whole ordeal. Your support gives me strength, I deny all the allegations made against me and will continue to fight to the end to clear my name.”

The next stage in the process is another hearing which takes place this Thursday (June 6th 2013). Rocksins will continue to provide updates on this story as they become available.
