This is a sad announcement and one we’d rather not bring to our readers but the organisers of Hevy Festival 2013 have thrown in the towel as far as this years’ event is concerned. Having already suffered huge problems with their venue which led them to change the festival from a weekend camping festival to a one day event at Brixton Academy in London with a couple of extra gigs on the side, Hevy Festival 2013 has sadly now gone the way of Sonisphere 2013 and others. The event was due to be headlined by Killswitch Engage, with performances from Hatebreed, Sylosis, Comeback Kid and others. Please see the announcement from the Hevy Festival organisers below:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s festival.
Despite our best efforts to continue without the camping set-up, the change of venue has been more problematic than anticipated. It is time to draw a line under 2013, and look to the future to make sure next year’s festival is everything Hevy should be.
This has been a turbulent year for us, and we are very sorry to have let our audience down.
Ticket holders will receive an automatic refund from their ticket agents.
We have been asked to inform everyone that the HORSE the band show will still take place as planned. Horse The Band will be playing London’s Borderline venue at Tottenham Court Road on August 3rd, with tickets priced at £14. If you wish to purchase tickets to the Horse The Band show you can do so on the following link – https://www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/YGB0308. Any further statements or news regarding Hevy Festival 2014 will be brought to you here at Rocksins.com. Hopefully they will be back next year with their problems solved and a stronger lineup than ever before.
