After eight months of waiting by the fans and eight months of hard graft by the band, the team around them and the man himself, Devin Townsend and The Devin Townsend Project are now at last able to release the first clip of The Retinal Circus. What promises to be one of the metal DVD events of the year when it is released later in 2013, The Retinal Circus captures the very special show Devin & his band played at The Camden Town Roundhouse in October 2012, capturing his entire career up to this point, from Strapping Young Lad and Ziltoid to The DTP’s most recent release Epicloud.
To get everyone even more excited for the release, a clip of the fantastic song “Grace”, featuring Devin’s famed collaborator Anneke Van Giersbergen, is now available for viewing and listening pleasure. Please check out “Grace” from The Retinal Circus below:
The man himself Mr Devin Townsend has had the following to say about the work put into the release of Retinal up to this point:
‘So closing in on 8 months of work, we’re almost finished with the Retinal Circus! It’s been a huge amount of work for everyone, from the show, down to DVD & Blu-ray authoring, artwork, logistics…(not to mention the show itself!) but we’re almost there, and when watched in its entirety, it’s really a heck of an experience! To tie you over until it’s out, here’s a clip of the song ‘Grace’…It’s out of context obviously, but hopefully gives you a vague idea of what’s about to come out. It’s been a ton of work for everybody and we’re really quite proud of it…when the final products have been produced, we’ll let you know! Fun! Whew!!!’
