Dream Theater Celebrate UK Album Chart Success With Their Self Titled Album

Dream Theater at High Voltage 2011

Aside from Rush, Dream Theater are the biggest band active with connections to the world of progressive rock or prog metal music and the Dream Theater juggernaut continues to successfully roll across the world with absolutely no signs of faltering. With the release of their eponymous new album (the first self titled release in the band’s history), released last week to widespread critical acclaim, they have once again proved their huge popularity on UK shores.

“Dream Theater” has charted in the UK Top 40 Album Charts firmly inside the top 20 at number fifteen, which is Dream Theater’s best ever first week album chart position in the UK in their lengthy career. Dream Theater fans are known for being among the most hardcore going, and they’re also fans that still buy their music as evidenced by the success of the new album.

Dream Theater will return to Europe for a huge early 2014 European Tour which includes a three date stop over in the UK, with shows in London, Wolverhampton and Manchester. Confirmation of the dates for the entire tour are available on the original announcement here.

“Dream Theater” is out now on Roadrunner Records. If you haven’t seen it, or even if you have and want to enjoy it again, please check out the lyric video for the first single from the album The Enemy Inside below:
