The people at Bloodstock Open Air Festival are really spoiling us for the 2014 installment of the festival. Not only have they given us first the mighty Emperor and then the legendary stoner metal of Down as two of the headliners, they’ve now gone and added another three quality acts to the event.

First up are headliners of the very first Bloodstock Festival Saxon, who stepped in to save the event back in it’s infancy when it was an indoor festival back in 2001. Always a quality live act who cross the generations and attract metal fans of every age, Bloodstock will once again be enjoying the sounds of songs such as Motorcycle Man, Wheels Of Steel and Power & The Glory as Biff Byford and co will put on one of the unmissable performances of the weekend.

Second up, and making their Bloodstock début, are Germany’s legendary death metal act Decapitated. Soon to be in the UK alongside 2013 BOA headliners Lamb of God as main support to Randy Blythe and co on LoG’s huge January 2014 UK tour, Decapitated will return to raise hell on the fields of Catton Hall. The band are pretty excited about the prospect too:

“Bloodstock, here we come!!! Finally, after many years, it’s time to play at one of the biggest metal festivals in the UK. Can’t fucking wait! It’s an honour to perform on the Bloodstock stage for so many people. Hopefully we will kick your asses with our new album! See you soon!”

Last but certainly not least are American thrash metal icons Flotsam & Jetsam (who once featured Jason Newsted of Metallica fame amongst their ranks). Flotsam & Jetsam will be on the road in support of their latest album Ugly Noise and are sure to bring huge satisfaction to the many thrash fans that head to Bloodstock every year.

Early bird tickets for BOA 2014 are currently available from the Bloodstock ticket store at Seetickets for the discounted price of £115. There is only a limited number of these available and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Anyone who wants a Bloodstock ticket for Christmas should point their loved ones to https://bloodstock.seetickets.com/.

There will no doubt be many more BOA announcements in the coming weeks and months and as soon as any more acts are announced we will let you know!
