Walking Papers, the new project from former Guns N’Roses / Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan, have announced their return to the UK as the new opening act for Seattle legends Alice In Chains on their UK tour taking place next month. Lining up alongside special guests already announced in the eeiry shape of Ghost BC, this will be Walking Papers first full tour of the UK. Joey Jordison’s new project Scar The Martyr were previously scheduled to open the shows but have had to drop off the tour.
Walking Papers debut album, which is a self titled offering will be released later in October 2013 through Loud & Proud Records. The album has been produced by Jack Endino, who worked with Nirvana and Soungarden amongst many others. UK fans of Walking Papers will be treated to four extra tracks on the UK version of the album. In addition to Duff, the band is comprised of Barrett Martin (also of Screaming Trees), plus Jeff Angell and Benjamin Anderson (who are both also members of The Missionary Position).
Walking Papers singer Jeff Angell had this to say about the upcoming tour:
Knowing Alice in Chains was touring the UK without us left me feeling a bit “Hollow.” When Walking Papers was asked if we “Would” join them we said that we’d love to but really “It’s Your Decision.” They decided, and Walking Papers is thrilled to be touring with Alice in Chains “Again.”
