In what’s one of the best festival announcements we’ve seen in quite awhile, the Sonisphere team have just confirmed another seven bands to play Sonisphere UK at Knebworth this coming July. Watch the video for the full unveiling:

If you weren’t able to watch the video for some reason, the seven bands added to Sonisphere Knebworth 2014 are led by SLAYER. There’s not much more you need to say about that other than the fact it’s Slayer! Joining Tom, Kerry and friends will be French maestros Gojira, American prog metal giants Mastodon, grunge legends Alice In Chains, Aussie hard rockers Airbourne, their compatriots and purveyors of prog rock Karnivool and the always mysterious Ghost / Ghost B.C (in a UK exclusive performance for 2014)!
Joe from Gojira is very much looking forward to returning to Knebworth, the scene of one of their greatest UK performances so far in 2011:
“We are super excited to return to the UK to play the Sonisphere festival at legendary Knebworth this year. We can’t wait to come and kick your British asses!”
Those seven acts join the highly publicised headliners for the event The Prodigy, Iron Maiden (with their last ever Maiden England show) and Metallica’s very special “by request” performance.
