As reported yesterday here on Rock Sins, unfortunately NWOAHM favourites Chimaira have had to pull out of Takedown Festival 2014, as well as their whole UK and European tour due to singer Mark Hunter battling pneumonia. Chimaira and Mark have issued the following statement:
‘I’m sorry to say that Chimaira will have to postpone the upcoming European and UK dates. I am extremely sick at the moment with pneumonia and have been advised not to travel for a minimum of two weeks. The last thing we want to do is cancel. We are working to reschedule the shows and will have new dates set up shortly. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we hope to get over there ASAP. – Mark’
The team at Takedown have acted swiftly and taking Chimaira’s slot headlining the Uprawr stage at Takedown Festival 2014 will be none other than the UK’s own Rise To Remain. The London five piece, who made their live comeback a couple of weeks ago at The Borderline, also recently released their brand new single “Over and Over” as a free download, which you can pick up totally free at the following location – https://www.musicglue.com/rise-to-remain/.
The Takedown team are very happy to welcome Rise To Remain on board to provide an exciting conclusion to the Uprawr stage. All other announced bands are currently scheduled to appear as advertised. Anyone still needing tickets for Takedown 2014 can pick them up at https://takedown.vticket.co.uk. Any further updates on the festival will be brought to our readers whenever we have them. Takedown Festival 2014 is just over one week away and takes place on the 15th of March 2014 at Southampton University.
