This is a video that hit the airwaves a little while ago but as it’s from a band Rock Sins has long held in high regard we wanted to make it available to all of our readers anyway! Currently celebrating the recent release of their brand new album Shadows Of The Dying Sun, Finnish melodic death metal band Insomnium have released a video for the track While We Sleep from the album. With the distinctive Insomnium tones notable from the opening riff to some experimental cleaner vocals in parts of the song all the way through to a trademark blistering Insomnium guitar solo, the band have crafted a track that is likely already well on it’s way to becoming a fan favourite. Chedk out the video for Insomnium’s While She Sleep below:

Insomnium guitarist Ville Friman had this to say about the song and the video shoot for While We Sleep:

“Couple of weeks ago we travelled to Wroclaw, Poland, to shoot the first music video from “Shadows of the Dying Sun”. This time we decided to work with a Polish production company, Grupa 13, whose work includes new Behemoth video amongst others. The song we chose for the video is called “While We Sleep”. It’s a wistful song with all typical Insomnium elements included – riffs, melodies, aggression, sorrow, grandeur and hope. We shot everything within one day and it was really a pleasure to work with such a professional film group. Everything went smoothly and we are amazed and very happy with the ending result. You really can’t complain when the film group provides you vodka schnaps between the takes. We sincerely hope that you’ll like the ending result as much as we do.”

Shadows Of The Dying Sun is out now on Century Media Records. You can follow Insomnium on Twitter at @insomniumband. Insomnium will return to the UK in November 2014 as part of a huge European headline tour with Fleshgod Apocalypse. Further details of that, as well as a review of Shadows Of The Dying Sun will follow on Rock Sins in the coming days.
