When word got out via their enigmatic frontman Corey Taylor recently that the new Slipknot album was “98% finished”, it was only a matter of time until the official build up for arguably the most important record of Slipknot’s career began.
The wait is over and the time is now. About an hour ago the band posted the following image on their social media accounts (which looks suspiciously to us like an album cover) as well as directing fans and interested parties to the official Slipknot website www.slipknot1.com.
Upon arrival at the Slipknot website a very creepy trailer can be seen which has the odd snippet of riffs and samples to go along with some disturbing imagery (one would expect nothing else from Slipknot on such an occasion). With fan anticipation already at close to unprecedented levels, maggots worldwide have been left eagerly awaiting the next teaser, clue or audio snippet from the album to learn what the first Slipknot album without either Paul Gray or Joey Jordison will sound like. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root parted company with his and Corey Taylor’s other very successful band Stone Sour earlier this year and has been focusing all his efforts on the new Slipknot album – and it seems we will all soon bear witness to the fruits of his labour.
Slipknot also recently announced a second instalment of their Knotfest Festival to take place over three days in late October in San Bernardino, California, with many huge bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, Anthrax and Volbeat playing alongside Slipknot themselves. For tickets and full details please go to https://www.knotfest.com/.
Any further updates on the new Slipknot album or any further Knotfest instalments to go with the US and Japanese editions will be announced here on Rock Sins as soon as we know any more.
Super excited for this album. Hope they don’t wait to long for the next “clue”
