Horrible news has come to us late this evening concerning A Day To Remember’s gig tonight at the Portsmouth Guildhall. A Day To Remember’s set at the show was underway when a member of the audience in the upper tier / balcony section either fell from the balcony onto members of the standing section below or jumped from the balcony – there are currently conflicting eye witness accounts speculating both versions of the story.
Following the incident the gig was cut short as paramedics and members of the emergency services were required to attend the scene. Again, according to members of the crowd who were in attendance a police investigation is now underway to determine exactly what happened. Rock Sins sends positive thoughts and prayers to anyone who may have been hurt in this incident and we can only hope that no one was injured seriously regardless of why the person at the centre of this incident came off the balcony, be it accidental or deliberate.
The show at Portsmouth Guidhall was the first stop on A Day To Remember’s “All Signs Point To Britain” regional tour which sees them playing various locations around the country that they have generally not played in on other recent tours. The tour continues on Friday in Plymouth at the Plymouth Pavilions before moving onto Brighton, Leeds, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Sheffield and Newcastle. ADTR are being supported by Lower Than Atlantis on the tour.
If and when we receive any further news about this incident we will provide an update to our readers. Also keep your eyes on A Day To Remember’s official Twitter account @WhereIsADTR as they may issue a statement about tonight’s events at some stage.
