The lord of horror himself has been announced for Bloodstock Open Air 2015! That’s right, none other than Rob Zombie himself has been confirmed as BOA 2015’s second headline act, joining Dutch symphonic metallers Within Temptation at the top of the bill for next year. An infrequent visitor to these shores, with only two Download appearances and one tour in the last decade, this appearance at Bloodstock marks Rob Zombie’s first UK headline festival appearance. Anyone who has experienced the Rob Zombie live show in the flesh knows it’s guaranteed to be one hell of a show! Rob and his band John 5, Piggy D and Ginger Fish will be bringing their full production to Catton Hall so the closing night of Bloodstock 2015 promises to be extra special.
The one and only Rob Zombie himself had this to say about the news he’ll be headlining England’s premier “proper” metal festival:
“I am so ready to get on a plane, and get my ass over to merry ol’ England for BLOODSTOCK. We’ve had some of the best shows of our lives over there and can’t wait to add this to the list. Besides, it’s called ‘BLOODSTOCK’ so how could it not be bloody fucking fun?”
As well as the excellent news about Mr Zombie joining the BOA family, there’s now a chance for some lucky Bloodstock fans to win some tickets to be there. The lovely folks at Bloodstock HQ have announced a new treasure hunt on their website giving you chance to win tickets to the 2015 event!
All you have to do is simply find the 12 hidden fireworks on their website. If you can find them all you will be in for a chance to win 2 weekend tickets to the events. You’ve got until midnight on Friday 7th November – so two and a half days – to hunt out all the fireworks. Simply paste all the URLs into an email with your name, age and address and submit to comps@bloodstock.uk.com to throw your entry in the hat. Winners will be announced the week commencing 10th November over at the BLOODSTOCK website and social media channels.
Bloodstock Open Air 2015 is set to take place at it’s usual home of Catton Hall in Derbyshire from the 6th – 9th of August. Rob Zombie and Within Temptation as mentioned above will headline along with Saturday special guests Opeth. Other bands already confirmed include Sepultura, Ihsahn, Cannibal Corpse, Dark Angel, Nuclear Assault and Death DTA! Stay tuned for further announcements before the end of the year.
