Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you’ll know that last week marked the release of the biggest metal album of the year, Slipknot’s .5: The Gray Chapter. The hugely anticipated fifth major release from the Iowan nine piece had been over six years in the making, and it’s now out for the world to hear and enjoy, which they have been doing in large numbers. Quite a lot of maggots worldwide have also been parting with their hard earned cash and actually buying the album.
Unfortunately in the UK Slipknot were pipped to the number one spot in the Top 40 album charts by Ben Howard, but number two in the UK album charts isn’t exactly a poor performance for any metal band when it comes to UK album sales.
However, in the US Slipknot went one better as The Gray Chapter scored the band their second US number one album (with the first being 2008’s All Hope Is Gone), selling roughly 132,000 copies, way ahead of any of their competition.
To help maggots everywhere celebrate, we’ve got Pro Shot footage of both of Slipknot’s headline performances from their Knotfest festival in California last weekend. You can enjoy both sets in full below:
