Continuing the build up to their eagerly awaited new album Dormant Heart, Reading thrashers Sylosis have unveiled a very special music video for their second single off the new album. The song, titled Leech, is accompanied by a very unique animated video. We won’t say anything more, other than we’d class it as probably NSFW so be careful where you are watching. With that said, please enjoy!

On the subject of the video, Sylosis frontman Josh Middleton explained why the band decided to do something a bit different for their newest single:
“Leech is the second single off the new album. I would say the album is probably our heaviest to date but this song showcases a more melodic and stripped back side to what we do. It’s a really dark, sinister doomy sounding song and we thought it would be cool to try something a bit different for the video and have it reflect the vibe of the music. We’ve always wanted to have an animated music video and it allows for a bit more creativity and makes it stand out.”
The Leech video was painstakingly created over a period of almost two months by just one (very creative and talented) individual – Oliver Jones of Better Feeling Films. Using a technique known as rotoscoping (tracing over recorded footage to transform it to animation), over five hours of recording footage with the band as well as original animation have been crafted together to produce the Leech video you’ve just watched above.
Sylosis’ forthcoming new album Dormant Heart will be released on the 12th of January 2015 through Sylosis’ long time record label Nuclear Blast. Pre-orders for the album in a variety of formats are available at the following link – https://bit.ly/dormantheart.
