Enormous news to kick off everyone’s Monday mornings. The US / Armenian alt-metal superstars that are System Of A Down have announced a VERY special European Tour is going to take place next April.

Entitled the “Wake Up The Souls” tour, System Of A Down are getting back on the road in Europe in April 2015 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which is regarded to have begun on the 24th of April 1915 in what is now known as Istanbul (back in those days it was known as Constantinople and was part of the Ottoman Empire). For those without prior knowledge of the atrocity, the Armenian Genocide saw well over a million Armenians slaughtered or marched to their deaths in the Syrian desert during and after the end of World War I. The tour was announced on the System Of A Down Facebook and the tour poster is also available at main.systemofadown.com.

To raise further awareness and to commemorate those horrific events, System Of A Down will play seven shows across Europe, beginning at London’s Wembley Arena on the 10th of April and finishing up with a free show in the Republic Square in Yeveran in Armenia itself. The full list of dates as well as ticket on sale dates can be found below:
