Well this is well and truly going to raise the ire of those who see Bloodstock Open Air as the festival “for the metal underground”. The final headliners for this years BOA extravaganza have just been announced and it is none other than Florida’s finest metal export of recent times Trivium! Having put in several high profile performances at Donington Park over the years, most recently earlier this year when they headlined the Second Stage on the final night of Download 2014, Trivium will make their first trip to Catton Hall as the Friday night headliners for Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2015.
Trivium main man Matt Heafy had this to say:
“The UK is where the world first took notice of TRIVIUM, and to pay true homage to that, TRIVIUM will be playing the most Metal festival that exists in the UK: BLOODSTOCK! We are thrilled beyond words to celebrate our first time at BLOODSTOCK with the the UK’s Metal elite.”
In keeping with the more traditional Bloodstock style of band, Trivium’s special guests on Friday night will be Swedish power metal superstars Sabaton! Sabaton have recently completed their biggest UK tour thus far and will deservedly occupy their most high profile position at a British festival to date at Bloodstock next year. They’ll also headline their biggest UK show thus far at The Forum on January 12th 2015 with Delain and Battle Beast if you want to catch them prior to Bloodstock.
Sabaton bassist Par Sundstrom is looking forward to bringing the full Sabaton show to BOA for the first time:
“We just had a kick-ass tour in the UK with lots of sold-out shows! With this fresh in our mind, we cannot wait to return to these shores again and this time we can actually bring our full production to BLOODSTOCK! It will be the first time we have done a show like this at a British festival!”
Last but not least, If you like your metal folky and dark, then Agalloch may well be the band for you and they also join the line up at BOA 2015, appearing on the Sunday of the festival.
Early bird tickets for Bloodstock 2015 will go OFF SALE on Friday 15th of December (unless they sell out by then which is a distinct possibility). Trivium join the other 2 headliners for Bloodstock Open Air 2015 Rob Zombie and Within Temptation, along with Opeth, Ihsahn, Cannibal Corpse, Nuclear Assault, Dark Angel, Orange Goblin, 1349 and loads more metal bands of all shapes and sizes.
