Over the last few weeks, the powers that be at Catton Hall have added yet more tremendous bands to the 2015 Bloodstock Open Air Festival line up. We’ve been a bit remiss in providing an update about that, so we thought we’d do the honourable thing and have a catch up.
After delighting their long suffering hardcore fanbase with a triumphant reunion last year, 2015 is once again all systems go for Raging Speedhorn. The Ronnie James Dio main stage at BOA will bear witness to the likes of Thumper when Raging Speedhorn hit the stage this August and are sure to be one of the bands of whichever day they play on. Also joining Raging Speedhorn on the main stage at Bloodstock 2015 are progressive metal outfit Xerath. With most recent album III have earned rave reviews across the board it will be most welcome to see Xerath join the group of British metal bands laying waste to Bloodstock across the weekend.
It’s the Sophie Lancaster stage that gets the bulk of the new additions this time around, with eight new varied acts who will all be appearing on BOA 2015’s Sophie Stage. Legendary UK thrash outfit Lawnmower Deth are first up, and are guaranteed to thrill any thrash fans present at Bloodstock, so we would suggest they are not to be missed! French jazz metal group Trepalium are also heading to BOA after the release of their new mesmerising E.P Damballa’s Voodoo Doll (read our review here) and are well known for their brilliant live shows – another band you miss at your peril.
There’s plenty more from the Brits too in the shape of metallers Godsized, noise punk duo Oaf, Scouse black metal collective Ethereal and Dirty Sanchez nutters Pritchard vs Dainton. They’ll be joined by some more choice picks from the world of European metal such as Belgian symphonic black metal group Saille and Dutch death metallers Villainy.
All of these bands join headliners Trivium, Within Temptation and Rob Zombie and their special guests Sabaton, Opeth and Black Label Society at the 2015 Bloodstock Open Air Festival in Derbyshire in early August. BOA 2015 will also see performances from Ihsahn, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, 1349, Orange Goblin, Death DTA, Godflesh and many more.
