Every year the Download Festival offers a wide array of entertainment other than the bands across the village and other areas of the festival. 2015 is no exception.
Download devotees will know there is a fancy dress theme every single year. This year it’s sure to be a hugely popular one, with the theme being none other than Wrestling! Dust off your D-Generation X T-Shirts, your Hulk Hogan bandanas and your John Cena hand signs for what could be an enormous amount of fun. Progress Wrestling will also be making their return to Download, having featured at previous instalments of the festival.
Elsewhere, the Download organisers have really gone to town. There’s going to be everything from Laser Tag (sounds good to us) to heavy metal mask making. The singletons amongst the Download goers might also like to take part in the heavy metal speed dating run by the people from the Heavy Metal Dating website! If you’re not looking for love then you can sink a few at the Hair of the Dog beer and real ale house and take to the Dog’s Bed Stage – an open mic experience right in the heart of Download!
The medieval battle reenactments that were so popular at Download 2014 will also return to Donington for 2015, along with many of the club nights that were so popular in the Doghouse such as Facedown, Uprawr, Mayhem and Ultimate Power (who can resist singing power ballads at 3am after watching Slipknot?). Lastly, and possibly the one individual attraction that will cause the most fun is the Download Inflatable Chapel Of Love. Get married at Download (sadly not legally binding) or take part in the Morning Glory Rock Spandex Workout. Quite frankly we think you’re in serious danger of missing a lot of bands with all of this going on!!
We also know it’s not Easter anymore but the Download Festival Easter message was just too damn cute not to include! You can watch it below:
