With the festival season drawing ever closer, the Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2015 organisers have announced news of seven new bands who will take to the Sophie Lancaster Stage over the course of the weekend for BOA 2015.
First up are Rock Sins’ great friends and masters of the riff, London sludge metal outfit Hang The Bastard who will play the Sophie Stage on Friday. Having recently supported the legendary Corrosion Of Conformity on their first European tour with Pepper Keenan for many years as well as completing their own headline tour, ‘The Bastard are ready to unleash their riff assault on Catton Hall for the first time.
Joining Hang The Bastard are UK power metallers I AM I, headed up by ex-Dragonforce singer ZP Theart. I AM I are currently holed up in the studio working on their new album, so expect to hear a new tune or two as they join the fun on the Sophie Stage on Friday. Continuing the trend of reactivated classic thrash metal bands, Brit thrashers Re-Animator will also join the party on the Sophie Stage Friday, as will hard rock outfit Fire Red Empress. A Bloodstock announcement generally isn’t an announcement without a band from the Nordics, so Danish genre-benders Hexis are heading over to BOA to bring their blend of hardcore and black metal infused doom – once again on the Friday.
Moving into Saturday where the Sophie Stage is being headlined by the almighty Fleshgod Apocalypse, main support for Fleshgod will come in the shape of rock n’rollers Jettblack. With a brand new album released this month, April is turning into a great month for the Jettblack boys. Lastly, joining the Sophie Stage bill on the Sunday are Irish metallers Dead Label, who hope to have their new album Throne Of Bones out in time for the BOA fun.
All of these bands join the existing Bloodstock Open Air 2015 Line Up which includes headliners Trivium, Within Temptation and Rob Zombie, special guests Sabaton, Opeth and Black Label Society and dozens more bands including Ihsahn, Cannibal Corpse, Dark Angel, Napalm Death, Raging Speedhorn, 1349, Xerath and many many more.
