As far as extreme metal news goes, it doesn’t get too much bigger than this. Polish extreme metal overlords Behemoth are to make their return to Bloodstock Open Air Festival in 2016 as the festival’s Friday night special guests. News of Behemoth returning to Catton Hall by itself is enough to make many weep with joy, however that’s not the half of it this time.
Bloodstock 2016 will see Behemoth play their black / death / prog metal hybrid epic The Satanist IN FULL. Hailed as the album of the year upon it’s release and held up by many as the metal album of the decade thus far, this is potentially a once in a lifetime chance to see it played in all it’s wondrously evil glory.
This news comes just a couple of days after the announcement that British extreme metal forefathers Venom would also be taking to the stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2016 (read that original announcement here). So, what with the actual festival itself taking place over the weekend and the big names already coming thick and fast for next year, it’s been quite the weekend for the team at Bloodstock Festival HQ!
