Mere moments ago, British heavy metal institution and all around legends Iron Maiden unveiled their first new song to hit the airwaves and speakers in five years! Speed Of Light is the first new song to surface from their upcoming album The Book Of Souls, and was given it’s first airing on Planet Rock Radio at 8 O’Clock this morning (14th of August).
Maiden have also released a video for Speed Of Light, featuring everyone’s favourite Eddie (as one might have expected), so you can all listen and check out the video for yourselves right here and right now. Bonus points for everyone who can pick up all the different classic references throughout the video!
Iron Maiden’s sixteenth studio album The Book Of Souls will be released on the 4th of September 2015 through Parlophone Records. The album features the longest Iron Maiden song ever recorded, “Empire of the Clouds”, which was written solely by frontman Bruce Dickinson and clocks in at over eighteen minutes, something to impress even fans of prog giants of the likes of Dream Theater and Transatlantic.
