Well this is going to go down rather well in most circles isn’t it?! Atlanta prog metal favourites Mastodon have in the last few minutes been confirmed as the first headliners for Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2016!! The news was revealed by Mr Daniel P Carter on the Radio One Rock Show at around 8pm. Judging by the initial reaction on social media (we actually haven’t seen a single person complain yet!), this is going to be an incredibly popular choice and one that is sure to shift some tickets in a hurry. Mastodon will headline the Saturday night of the festival.
This news comes alongside the two already huge announcements that came out while Bloodstock 2015 was still taking place; Venom making their first appearance on Bloodstock turf, and the enormously popular news that Behemoth would take the Friday night special guest slot and play their magnum opus The Satanist in full!
Early bird tickets for Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2015 are currently available for just £120 plus booking fees and postage charges. These can be obtained from the official festival website www.bloodstock.uk.com. Mastodon’s most recent album, the wonderful ‘Once More Round The Sun was released last year to enormous fan and widespread mainstream critical acclaim.
