We’re a bit slow catching up on this announcement from our friends in the team at Bloodstock Open Air Festival but it’s important news that we wanted to share with our readers, as they’ve added another three very interesting bands to their line up for BOA 2016.

Firstly, in their only UK show of 2016 are Yorkshire metal legends Paradise Lost. Huge favourites of the BOA community down the years, Paradise Lost will return once again to amaze the Catton Hall crowd on the Saturday of Bloodstock 2016. Here’s their guitarist Greg Mackintosh:

“It is great to be confirmed to play Bloodstock 2016! We haven’t played there since 2012 and we had a blast. It will also be our first UK festival appearance since the release of our new album, ‘The Plague Within’. We look forward to seeing you all there and adding the doom and gloom to Bloodstock 2016.”

Paradise Lost’s fellow Brits and masters of the extreme shred, power metallers Dragonforce are returning to Bloodstock for the first time in a decade, in what will also be their only UK show of next year. Their main axemaster Hernan Li gives everyone the lowdown on Dragonforce returning to BOA:

“It’s been over 10 years since DragonForce played Bloodstock, and both of us have come a long way in that time. Back then, we were a new band with only our debut album out, and Bloodstock was a smaller indoor festival, but still a magnet for true, die-hard rock & metal fans, just as it is today. We had some of our best times that year at Bloodstock and felt great excitement at being invited to play. That excitement is just as real today having been invited back again, only this time it’s even better because I won’t need to pack the gear and drive up there in my car with Sam Totman as my map reader!!”

Last but not least, extreme metal with a mediterranean flavour will join Paradise Lost and Dragonforce as Greece’s Rotting Christ will head to Bloodstock, for, you guessed it, their only UK show of next year. Frontman Sakis is extremely enthusiastic about coming Bloodstock:

“We’re very proud to be coming back to the biggest metal festival in the United Kingdom! Bloodstock, let’s create hell on earth next year! Until then…keep the spirit alive!”

Tickets to see these bands, as well as headliners Twisted Sister (in their LAST EVER UK SHOW) and Mastodon, plus Venom and Behemoth (playing The Satanist in full – we won’t shut up about this until BOA 2016 is here) can be obtained from the following link – https://bloodstock.seetickets.com/event/bloodstock-2016/catton-park/902838 for £120 plus fees and postage. More bands will no doubt be added before Christmas so keep your eyes on Rock Sins for more Bloodstock Festival news.
