Festival announcements continue to fly thick and fast at events big and small all over the UK. Amongst the din, it’s always good to receive news of more bands from our friends at Bloodstock Open Air Festival HQ for the 2016 installment, and they’ve got another 5 bands for us this time!

Kicking off this group of bands is a double dose of big hitting American metal. NWOAHM outfit Unearth will make their BOA debut in 2016, with their latest album Watchers Of Rule seeing them being back to something close to their mid 00’s best. They will be joined by the NOLA sludge lords Corrosion Of Conformity, complete with original main man Pepper Keenan back in the fold. Pepper himself can’t wait for Bloodstock:

“It’s been a real pleasure after all this time to get back with the COC lads and start jamming again and creating music. We are having a blast! We’ve have had so much support from all over the globe and landing on a fest like BLOODSTOCK really sums it up. We’re honoured and cannot wait to up the fuckin’ hammers in the middle of nowhere in merry ol’ England! Thank you! Ohh yeah, don’t forget me cider ….!”

If Bowling For Soup are sometimes called the Download festival house band, then if you’re looking for a Bloodstock house band it would have to be Evil Scarecrow. They’re back one again to have a lot of fun. If you missed them last time at BOA, this may give you some enlightenment as to what happened:

Making their first ever UK appearance at Bloodstock Open Air in 2016 will be black metal atmospheric noise masters Ghost Bath, who will jet in from the US for their first ever performance on British soil. Rounding off the announcement are another US outfit – “Southern fried” metallers XII Boar. Not heard them before? Check out a song of theirs from their last album with a song title reminiscent of a very famous Nottingham rock venue:
