Continuing the trend of major artists supporting the excellent cause of Record Store Day (tomorrow, 16th April 2016) with exclusive releases in recent years, Killswitch Engage are offering up a new track for the event.
Jesse, Adam D and the boys are releasing a brand new song, Define Love, which was recorded during the sessions for recent album Incarnate, as a very special single for Record Store Day. Define Love will be available only on 7″ vinyl. Side A of the vinyl will feature the track, while Side B is silkscreened with “Define Love” single artwork, crafted by none other than by Killswitch’s bassist Mike D. The vinyl also features a Killswitch Engage stencil.
The track premiered online yesterday with Revolver, and can be heard below:
Want to know a bit more about Define Love? Jesse Leach, KSE’s vocalist and lyricist, is on hand to inform you:
“‘Define Love’ was written as my critique on our attempts as humans to limit love or restrict love. Whether it be political or religious agendas, love seems to be used as a way to manipulate people to think or act a certain way. Love is deeper than simple emotion or desire. It is an unexplainable spirit that defies our attempts to harness and understand it. True love, in my mind, is far greater than our feeble comprehension of it. We need not try to set any limitations on what defines love.”
Killswitch Engage will return to the UK in June for the 2016 Download Festival, and then in December as main support to Bullet For My Valentine on their UK tour. Their new album Incarnate is out now and received a 9 out of 10 from Rock Sins – the review can be read here.
