It’s been three years since Texas’ favourite pop punk sons Bowling For Soup released their last new album, Lunch Drunk Love. Since then they’ve bid us “farewell” and come back again for another round, but with only one new song (20 Years, on their greatest hits album) to speak of in terms of new music.
Now the wait for new Bowling For Soup is set to be over. With a project that smashed it’s PledgeMusic target in just nine days, BFS are happy to announce their new album Drunk Dynasty will be released on the 30th of September. It didn’t originally start as an album, as their frontman Jaret Reddick will explain:
“When we decided to go into the studio this summer, I thought an EP was the best move. Not really for any reason other than time. I think the future for BFS is less music, more often. I hate waiting 2 years between releases. And I really like recording!
An EP is usually like 5 songs. We recorded 8 already. So I said FUCK IT! Drunk Dynasty is going to be 10 songs! Best of all, we aren’t increasing the price for the album on our pledge campaign. Folks can still go to www.drunkdynasty.com and get it for the EP price and be included in all the exclusive updates! In addition, I want to keep the price as low as possible when we release to the public! Either way, I am just SUPER stoked for everyone to hear this shit!”
As Jaret says, Drunk Dynasty can be pre-ordered from the album’s website www.drunkdynasty.com. Bowling For Soup will next be in the UK in October as special guests to Steel Panther on their UK arena tour along with Buckcherry. A reminder of the dates for that tour can be found on the poster below. Tickets are obtainable from www.livenation.co.uk.
