Opeth are no strangers to performing special shows in London. They celebrated their 20th anniversary by playing Blackwater Park at The Royal Albert Hall and their 25th anniversary by playing Ghost Reveries at The Theatre Royal in Drury Lane just last October.
Now they’re set to do it all again. Their show at London’s world famous Wembley Arena was always going to be special anyway, with it being Opeth’s first UK arena show and with their eagerly awaited new album Sorceress on display for the first time on these shores, but they’ve upped the ante considerably.
The Wembley Arena show will feature two full sets of Opeth; The first being a set comprised of new material from Sorceress and a mixture of favourites from other albums. The second will be comprised of their much loved double header of albums, Damnation and Deliverance. This is one of only three shows where this special set will be performed, with the others taking place in New York and in Australia.
Opeth’s brand new album Sorceress will be released on the 30th of September 2016 through Nuclear Blast Records. The wonderfully quirky title track can be streamed below:
Further updates from Mikael Akerfeldt and friends will follow in the coming weeks, including a review of what we hope will be another brilliant new album.
