With the holiday weekend approaching here in the UK, we thought we’d schedule our video of the week contest a little differently this time. There’s still the usual five videos to vote for, to see who will follow last weeks’ winners Servers! Onto the action….
First up this week are Yorkshire firecracker five piece As Sirens Fall. Their debut EP The Hospital Party has been getting rave reviews and their previous single Where We Are was a fixture on Kerrang TV for a number of weeks, so they’re off to a good start. Will the video for Smoke, which continues the story started in the Where We Are video be your pick of the week? Watch and find out.
From Yorkshire to Florida and our old friends and Ocala natives A Day To Remember. Bullfight is the latest single and video to surface from ADTR’s forthcoming album Bad Vibrations. The Bullfight music video sees ADTR getting in touch with their artistic side (of sorts). We suggest you watch and see for yourselves!
Want something a bit heavier than the newest offering from A Day To Remember? Then try Carcer City. Sitting effortlessly astride the border between metalcore and tech metal in a way that many bands can only dream of, Carcer City bring their newest single and video for Sovereign for your listening and viewing pleasure. Blurring the boundaries between lyric videos and full blown music videos, Sovereign is one to sit back, enjoy, and then get up and bang your heads with.
The latest Australian rock export to hit the UK, Dead Letter Circus, are our next entrants in this weeks’ video of the week. Their brand new video for the single The Burning Number sees the band “getting their Scorsese on” (their words, not ours) as they document their travels in fast forward. They come to the UK in October and if you’re impressed by the video, there will be the chance to see them in the flesh soon enough.
Last but not least this week are Danish prog / electronica fusion quartet Vola, with a beautifully animated video for their song Gutter Moon. Animated videos can be very hit or miss with their approaches but this one is masterfully done and definitely deserves your attention when you consider who should be your video of the week!
Who will win? The choice is yours! Voting closes at Monday 29th of August at 12pm Midnight UK time. GET VOTING!
