Here at Rock Sins we are beyond excited for Alter Bridge’s new album The Last Hero, and are counting down the days until it’s released (less than a month to go now, October 7th). So we’re rather pleased to find that another new song from The Last Hero has been released this afternoon. My Champion has received it’s premiere from our friends over at Team Rock this afternoon, and can also be found on the cover CD of this month’s Classic Rock Magazine. You can check out the lyric video for My Champion below:
My Champion is an incredibly personal song for one member of the band, frontman Myles Kennedy:
“The lyric was actually inspired by thinking back to my situation as a kid, I was this really small, underdeveloped kid who had to work extremely hard to keep up with all of my peers. It was very frustrating. I would hear a lot of words of encouragement from parents, coaches, or teachers though. A lot of those things were stored away, and they manifested themselves in this song. I’ve been able to apply some of those concepts in my life a thousand times over since then.”
