Not many rock bands these days can say they hit the Top 30 of the UK album charts with their second release. But that’s exactly what Bristol’s Area 11 managed back in July with their first album Modern Synthesis.
Following on from the success of the album (which charted at no27) and a subsequent sold out tour, Area 11 are getting back on the road just before Christmas in December 2016 for a six date headline run. This will include the bands’ biggest show so far at London’s Islington Academy. Full details below:
Area 11 UK Headline Tour December 2016
9th – Patterns, Brighton
10th – Joiners, Southampton
12th – Sound Control, Manchester
13th – King Tuts, Glasgow
14th – Asylum 2, Birmingham
15th – O2 Academy Islington, London
Ticket information is available at the band’s own website https://www.area11.band/shows/. You can also catch the band this weekend at Butserfest Festival on the South Coast with Mallory Knox, Young Guns, Ashestoangels, Creeper and many more.
The band’s singer, the rather interestingly named Sparkles, has this to say about getting back on the road in December:
“We’re really excited to get back on tour, especially now that people have had the album for enough time to know the songs well. We’re expecting a bit of a sing along! We’re most excited for our Islington Academy show, which will be the biggest headline gig we’ve played to date.”
Area 11’s most recent music video, for the single “The Contract” (which is a great introduction to the band if you’ve not heard them before), is available for your viewing pleasure below:
Modern Synthesis is available now through Cooking Vinyl Records.
