It’s an extremely busy time at In Flames HQ in Gothenburg. With one of Sweden’s favourite metal exports just weeks away from releasing a brand new live DVD – Sounds From The Heart Of Gothenburg. Now they’ve announced the details of a brand new album as well!
In Flames’ next album will be called Battles and will land on the 11th of November 2016 through Nuclear Blast Records. They’ve already unveiled two of the songs from the album, with an audio stream for “The Truth”, and a lyric video for “The End” (which we really like the sound of). You can listen to both below:

For Battles, In Flames worked with well known producer Howard Benson (known for work with Papa Roach and My Chemical Romance amongst others), and that seems to have had a very positive affect on the band, as described by frontman Anders Friden:
“I think being in California really affected this album in the sense that we had a studio in the house that we were staying at and the vibe was really relaxed which lent itself to productivity, It really helped having a producer who could make us focus on what we needed to accomplish and keep us on track.”
Guitarist Bjorn Gelotte was also very open about the process:
“This was a very new approach for us because we’ve never let anyone else in the way we did with Howard.”
In Flames have recorded a series of behind the scenes webisodes about the recording process for Battles, the first two episodes of which can be seen below:
Lastly, you can see the Battles artwork below. Further updates on In Flames two new releases as well as when new music surfaces will be reported here at Rock Sins in due course!
