It’s Slam Dunk Festival announcement time! Keen to keep up their momentum, the organisers of Slam Dunk have added another eight bands to the line up for 2017, and once again it’s a real pick n mix of bands of all shapes, sizes and styles.
Topping this latest installment of artists are UK pop punk stars in the making Neck Deep. Having hit the top 10 of the charts last Summer, the Welsh quintet have had one hell of a year, and look set to continue on in 2017 where they left off in 2016, with their highest profile Slam Dunk appearance to date.
Also on board are Rock Sins favourites, Florida pop rockers Set It Off, who will provide one of the highlights of the event with a set full of anthems like Forever Stuck In Our Youth and Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing.
US metalcore outfit Memphis May Fire are also making a return to Slam Dunk for 2017, something Matty Mullins is very pleased about:
“This will be our 3rd time playing Slam Dunk Festival & we couldn’t be more excited about it! The UK feels like a 2nd home to us these days so we’re itching to get back & play material from our new album ‘This Light I Hold’!”
The remaining five bands come from a pair of record labels; Fearless Records trio I Prevail, Ice Nine Kills and Oceans Ate Alaska are all heading to Slam Dunk 2017 together, as are Run For Cover Records duo Citizen and Turnover.
The above bands join headliners Enter Shikari, Don Broco, Bowling For Soup, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Beartooth and many, many more on the bill for the 2017 Slam Dunk Festival with dozens more bands scheduled to be announced across eight stages. Slam Dunk 2017 takes place on the 2nd May bank holiday across three locations in three days; Leeds, Birmingham and The University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
Advance tickets are priced at £44 or £49 with access to the after party and are on sale now at the official festival website www.slamdunkmusic.com. Stay tuned for more updates in the weeks ahead!
