Continuing with the onslaught of recent festival announcements, Bloodstock Open Air 2017 are back at bat, and they’ve hit another home run (that’s about all the American Sports references we can manage, we’ll stop now).

Joining the BOA 2017 line up as Sunday night’s special guests are Arch Enemy! Revitalised by the addition of Alyssa White-Gluz as frontwoman and with a live DVD of their epic performance at Wacken Open Air last year in the works, Arch Enemy’s return to Bloodstock will be most welcome. Here’s a clip of War Eternal live on the Wacken DVD as a taster of what’s to come:

Joining Arch Enemy on the main stage, albeit on Friday rather than Sunday, are US deathcore mob Chelsea Grin, who are making their Bloodstock debuts in 2017. Frontman Alex Kohler can’t wait judging by these comments:

“We are looking forward to heading back overseas this summer to be part of Bloodstock 2017. When we were offered the show and we saw the lineup we were extremely excited. We’ve seen tons of videos from BLOODSTOCK in the past and cannot wait to be there.”

Rounding off this particular announcement and heading to the Sophie Lancaster Stage are Canadian prog metal outfit Oni. Shortly to be touring the UK with Children Of Bodom and Forever Still, Oni will return to England in August to take up a spot on the Sophie Stage on the Saturday of BOA 2017.

These three bands join the previously announced likes of headliners Amon Amarth and Megadeth, as well as Blind Guardian, Skindred, Hatebreed, Soilwork, Testament, Wintersun and many more! Grab your tickets from the official Bloodstock ticket shop at Seetickets – http://bloodstock.seetickets.com/.

There’s another announcement coming on Friday, so return then for even more BOA band news!
