We’re now only six weeks out from Slam Dunk 2017, and there’s lots to bring our readers up-to-date with!
Firstly, we need to catch up on the most recently announced bands. The good folks at Rock Sound recently announced they were going to be hosting their own stage, titled The Rock Sound Breakout Stage, with their own curated selection of bands. There’s a nice mix of homegrown and international up and comers for this stage, in the shape of Ocean Grove, Makeout and Sylar forming the overseas contingent and Area 11, Casey, Homebound, Make Out, The Gospel Youth and Vukovi lining up in the homegrown corner. There’ll also be a competition winner opening this stage.
Secondly, after the announcement of the Rock Sound Breakout Stage, Slam Dunk have also announced the stage split line ups for all the other stages, giving all the already announced bands so far a home for the course of Slam Dunk. Alongside Enter Shikari’s headlining Take To The Skies ten year celebration, the main Jagermeister stage will be home to Don Broco, Deaf Havana, Beartooth, We Are The Ocean (their last ever shows), Crossfaith and Andrew McMahon.
Over on the Fireball Stage, our good pals Bowling For Soup will be headlining proceedings, accompanied by Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Mad Caddies, Zebrahead, The Ataris and Fenix TX, with the stage being compered by MC Lars. The Monster Energy Stage will see Neck Deep topping things off, joineed by The Movielife, WeTheKings, The Main, Cute Is What We Aim For, WSTR, Trophy Eyes and Like Pacific.
The Key Club Stage will see headliners Tonight Alive join forces with Set It Off, Seaway, With Confidence, Waterparks, Boston Manor, Black Foxxes, Decade and Fort Hope, while over on the Signature Brew Stage Against Me! and The Bronx will share headlining duties. Frank Iero and the Patience, Citizen, Turnover, Crime In Stereo, Milk Teeth, Sorority Noise and Puppy can also be found there.
As usual, some of the heaviest acts of Slam Dunk’s weekend can be found on the Impericon Stage, being headlined at Slam Dunk 2017 by Memphis May Fire. Joining them are the reactivated Madina Lake, Stray From The Path, I Prevail, Counterfeit, Ice Nine Kills, Oceans Ate Alaska, Shvpes and Too Close To Touch. There’ll also be the Uprawr Stage, featuring Acoustic acts and DJ’s, but the details of this are yet to be announced.
Slam Dunk South in Hatfield is now completely sold out, but Slam Dunk Midlands and Slam Dunk North in Birmingham and Leeds still have tickets remaining costing £44, and can be obtained from www.slamdunkmusic.com. Stay tuned for further Slam Dunk coverage between now and the festival!
