Video Of The Week (31st October) – Trivium, Rolo Tomassi, InAir, KidBrother & Funeral Shakes

Rock Sins Video Of The Week

Last time out it was Kingston natives Harbour Sharks who took home the winners medal for video of the week. Now it’s time for another five bands to do battle!

Kicking things off this week are our old friends Trivium. Having recently released the blistering new album The Sin And The Sentence, and having also given us a huge featured interview, the band have just released a video for the closing track on The Sin And The Sentence, Thrown Into The Fire. The video is very dark and fits with the mood of the song perfectly, just as you might expect from Trivium.

The first of a few new bands in this weeks’ video of the week contest, InAir are the latest band to emerge from the Reading rock and metal conveyor belt. Their new singl, Rise Again, is a fine introduction to the band, who are releasing their new EP at the end of next month.

Dark, aggressive and foreboding, with moments of beauty. That sentence could sum up Rolo Tomassi as a band, but it’s particularly relevant for their first new material in a couple of years, new single Rituals. The description is also fitting for the songs video, which is very monochrome and helps to convey the power of the song (particularly Eva Spence’s always titanic vocals) extremely well.

Featuring two members of The Smoking Hearts, Gallows drummer Lee Barratt and Nervus’ Em Foster, we are delighted to introduce Funeral Shakes to video of the week with their debut single Over You. A very simple yet effective video and a hugely catchy song, this is a band to firmly keep your eyes on over the next few months.

Finishing things up this week are another UK newcomer act to Rock Sins, KidBrother and their new video for current single Moon. Set to celebrate the release of Moon with a special show in London on the 7th of November at The Monarch with Eva Plays Dead amongst others, the video uses the trusty abandoned warehouse as a setting to great effect. It’s a great song as well, and definitely worth the time to check out.

This weeks’ video of the week contest closes on Midday UK time Monday the 6th of November. There can be only one winner so get voting!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
