Slayer Counting Down To Retirement With Announcement Of Final World Tour

Well this isn’t something we expected today. Thrash metal icons Slayer have indicated that the clock is ticking on the life of the band with a video announcement that Slayer are to make their exit after one final world tour. The promotional video currently only mentions North American dates being announcement imminently, but we’re sure other locations and dates will follow on from this initial announcement.

While never far from the minds of metal fans across the world, Slayer have experienced difficult times with the death of Jeff Hannemann in 2013, but found great form both live and on record with their most recent album Repentless. A feature Rock Sins’ own Matt Hill wrote about their renaissance at the time of Repentless’ release can be found here.

A reminder of exactly what the Slayer live experience is like can be found below, with the complete footage of their performance from Wacken Open Air Festival in 2014.

More details on this news as soon as we have it.
