Video Of The Week (1st April) – At The Gates, Kamelot, Dimmu Borgir and More

Rock Sins Video Of The Week

With Florida Thrashers Trivium winning things last time, we’ve got another six bands for our readers to check out to crown the latest video of the week!

Starting this off this week are Swedish melo-deth royalty At The Gates. With new album To Drink From The Night Itself coming in May, the album’s second single arrives to us in the shape of A Stare Bound In Stone. The video is visually unique, yet still very brutal, fitting the At The Gates sound as A Stare Bound In Stone takes the bludgeoning the listener into submission approach. We would expect nothing less from At The Gates.

Next up, another of Rock Sins’ old favourites with a new album firmly in our sights, power metallers Kamelot, whose new album The Shadow Theory is released this coming Friday, take things to the future with their new video. Phantom Devine (Shadow Empire) featuring Lauren Hart of Once Human is almost something out of the matrix, with clones and a seemingly evil force at work. The video leaves us in a to be continued situation, so you may see the follow up installment in a future video of the week!

Our first taste of home grown talent this week comes from Yorkshire outfit As Sirens Fall, who take things black and white with their new video for current single Lily. Taken from the upcoming EP Where Lost Things Go, Lily tells the story of the day the sun set and never rose again. Find out what happens to frontman Mikey Lord, and the rest of the band, by checking out the video!

UK thrashers Bloodshot Dawn are next up this week with the video for their new single Shackled. Taken from their third album Reanimation, it’s a simple yet effective video allowing the band to stretch their musical muscle and fret busting fingers, with the kind of shredding one has come to expect from these guys over the last few years.

German metallers Caliban are next up with their video for new single Ich Blute Für Dich. The song, which features Matthi from Nasty and Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler from Eskimo Callboy on guest vocals, is from their upcoming album Elements, which, like Kamelot’s new record, lands this coming Friday. The video is a firey affair (literally), full of pyro and energy and will keep the viewer certainly entertained.

Finishing things up this week are Dimmu Borgir hamming it up in glorious fashion on the video for Council Of Wolves and Snakes. With a video that feels like it was taylor made for black metal legends such as Dimmu, it’s another glimpse into their very interesting sounding new album Eonian, which lands in early May. We’re very much liking what we are hearing so far.

So there we have it. Six bands, six tracks, only one can win, joining the likes of Trivium and Paramore as 2018 Rock Sins’ video of the week winners. The vote for this video of the week contest will close at Midday UK time on the 7th of April, so get clicking for your favourite.
