After Halflives win last time out, it’s time for another six bands to do battle in Rock Sins video of the week. Kicking things off this time are none other than some familiar lads from St Albans….
Enter Shikari are a band known for having creative and varied music videos, but this time, they’ve not even had to create the video themselves. The video for Undercover Agent has been painstakingly crafted by one of their fans, and in typical Shikari style, not a band to waste a good opportunity, they’ve adopted the video as the official clip for the song. We’re always suckers for a bit of 8/16 bit retro action, so check it out.
Having made a big splash late last year with something of a comeback single in Save You, Bradford trio Stand Alone have turned the riffs up even harder this time out with their new single Never Stand Alone. The video depicts a struggle that will be so familiar to many people who watch it, but with a positive outcome at the end which isn’t always the case. A good song with a great message behind it.
About to take to the stage at Slam Dunk Festival this weekend, State Champs have decided to drop a brand new song in time for the weekend, and it’s a cracker. “Mine Is Gold” comes from their new album “Living Proof” which is released on the 15th of June. We’re liking the old school TV vibe of the video too.
With a remarkably vocal stance about the darkside and pitfalls of religion, As Everything Unfolds do not hold anything back with their new single 17:10. A band who may draw some pre-conceptions for their image, do not be fooled for a second, listen to the track and you’ll find a few surprises. We’re going to be watching As Everything Unfolds very carefully in the months to come, and suggest you do the same.
Hands up who wants to hear some awesome math-rock with a video that makes said math-rock look badass in a church with a stained glass window? Yep, we did too. Brighton natives Poly-Math have done something pretty special with their new single Alchemy. We think you should just sit back and enjoy.
Last up this week, and joining State Champs at Slam Dunk this weekend are LA Ska legends Goldfinger with their new single A Million Miles. It’s a very simple and effective video that accompanies the song, showing exactly why they’ve been at the top of their genre for such a long time. Anyone who sees them at Slam Dunk this weekend is guaranteed to have a good time.
This video of the week contest closes at 12pm midday on Thursday 31st May at 12pm Midday UK time. Time to get voting!Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
