Napalm Death and Cambridge University are not two things we thought we would be putting in the same sentence this morning – but you never know what life is going to throw up from day-to-day.
The Birmingham grindcore pioneers, who recently completed a stint on the second leg of US thrash giants Slayers’ farewell tour, are to be the subject of a very special Cambridge University lecture as part of the Universities’ annual “Festival Of Ideas”, which takes place every Autumn. Entitled THE SHORTEST SONG EVER: A COMPARATIVELY LENGTHY READING, the talk is about Napalm Death’s track “You Suffer”, the shortest recorded song at a brief one second. The talk will also cover wider themes around music, performance and noise as a whole.
Those who are interested to learn more, please visit the event page on the Festival Of Ideas website at the following link – https://www.festivalofideas.cam.ac.uk/events/shortest-song-ever-comparatively-lengthy-reading.
Napalm Death will shortly be teaming up with Cannibal Corpse for a tour of South and Latin America. The next chance to see them here in the UK will be at Damnation Festival 2018, taking place in early November at it’s usual location in Leeds. More information on Damnation, including ticket details, can be found at the festival’s official website – https://www.damnationfestival.co.uk/.
