The Yacht Club are a new band to us here at Rock Sins, but judging by their brand new single, we’re eager to hear what comes next.
They’ve just released a music video for their new single “Heigham Park”, which is taken from their upcoming debut album, with the somewhat wordy title of The Last Words That You Said To Me Have Kept Me Here And Safe. The album will be released through Beth Shalom Records. We’d love for you all to check out the Heigham Park video below:
Loosely describable as mathrock meets shoegaze (but there’s definitely some old school, early Jimmy Eat World style emo in there too), The Yacht Club originally started as a solo project for guitarist and frontman Marcus Gooda, but has grown into a fully fledged band. The new album The Last Words That You Said To Me Have Kept Me Here And Safe comes after Marcus and the rest of the band have been through a difficult time, including dealing with the grief of losing a friend to suicide, making the album a very personal and reflective one. Their ethos as a band is to sing songs about mental health, coping, and trying to help others find a light in the dark – something an awful lot of people can relate to. Anyone wanting to pre-order the album can do so here right – http://bethshalomrecords.limitedrun.com/.
We look forward to hearing more from The Yacht Club as the release of the album gets closer!
