Video Of The Week (17th December) – Architects, Halflives, Cane Hill and More!

Rock Sins Video Of The Week

Last time, it was a power pop landslide from Texas as young newcomers Not Ur Girlfrenz steamrollered their way to victory with their latest single No One Asked You Anyway.

Now we have five more bands who will fight it out in our last video of the week for the year, before we attempt the video of the year for 2018 over the holiday season.

Kicking things off on the final video of the week for 2018 are none other than Brighton’s finest Architects with Death Is Not Defeat. The video could quite easily be described as the “metal AF” counterpart to The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” video. Anyone who is familiar with that video from the early 2000’s will instantly know what we mean, and if you don’t know, we suggest you go YouTube it immediately. The latest single from the hugely successful Holy Hell, Architects momentum continues to grow and grow!

Some of the most impressive visual location scenery we’ve seen in a video all year comes from Halflives‘ latest effort for their single Fugitive. Their singer Linda Battilani travels the streets of Paris and beyond in a song that can be taken as literally or as metaphorically as you like. It’s a great song and you can play “spot the landmark” while you’re at it.

We’ve always loved a good animated video here at Rock Sins, so when we saw Asking Alexandria’s Vultures – released to celebrate the anniversary of their self-titled album, it had to be included. We’ve seen Danny Worsnop in many guises, but never quite like this. Check it out to see exactly what we mean.

With European metal stalwarts Nightrage, their latest single By Darkness Drawn may have a fairly simple video, but there are riffs flying out of this one by the absolute tonne. We defy anyone to listen to this and not bang their head. For anyone who’s not familiar with the Greek / Swedish outfit, this will serve as a fantastic introduction.

Lastly for this week, US quartet Cane Hill get very trippy in the video for their new single Acid Rain. Having just finished a huge European and UK tour with Bury Tomorrow and with their new EP set to drop early next year, this is perfectly designed to fill in the gaps until then. We suspect the subject material of this song may have a thing or two to do with questionable substances, so you have been warned.

The vote for this content will close at 12pm midday UK time on the 23rd of December, so there’s just under six days to get your votes in! Get voting!
