Time for a brand new video of the week contest! We’ve got six very different bands with six very different songs and videos battling it out for your votes this week.
Having set Download ablaze, almost literally, and with three mammoth shows at the end of November announced for English scores, Amon Amarth unleash hell with the video for Mjolner, Hammer Of Thor. With Beserker proving to be their most successful album yet, Mjolner is a big part of just why that has happened. Things have never looked better for Amon Amarth, and to that we say Skol!
Glasgow rockers Take Today have just kicked off a big UK tour this week, off the back of the release of their brand new single Lifeline. It’s the first time we’ve heard these guys, and we’re mightily impressed, especially with frontman Paul’s vocals. The video was shot in a very picturesque part of Scotland too for those who like their north of the border scenery. We can’t wait to see how they follow up this single.
Next up, Sum 41 take things to an emotional place with new single Never There. Their new album Order In Decline is now less than a month away, and this song, which is dedicated by Sum 41 main man Deryck Whibley to single parents all over the world. Get the tissues ready!
Bristol rockers Phoxjaw have their second EP, A Playground For Sad Adults at the end of next week. With this in mind, their new single Monday Man has an absolutely hysterical video attached, with the guys going sporty in a whole new way. It’s the kind of sporting action that may lead some of you to add your own commentary.
Sleeping With Sirens are another band with a new album on the horizon, having just announced their upcoming record How It Feels To Be Lost will be coming out in early September. The first single from the album, Leave It All Behind, has a very expansive video with a very apocalyptic looking ending, and we’d recommend you check it out right now.
Old school thrashers Sacred Reich are back with a bang, having announced their first new album in almost a quarter of a century. The title track from the album, Awakening, comes with an old school video, letting the metal do the talking. This is one album we’re eagerly looking forward to!
So there we have it – six videos, only one can win (usually). The vote will close at 12pm midday UK time at Wednesday the 3rd of July – so get voting!
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
